Ticket to Ride ~ Philly
Our family loves the board game Ticket to Ride, where you build a railroad network to connect cities. Since we're also big fans of Philadelphia and public transit we were inspired to create a Philly version of the game!
SEPTA is Philly's rich transit system, connecting the region with subways, trolleys, buses, regional rail, and high-speed rail.
And where the original game has
a network of cities connected by rail lines,
our version has a network of transit stops connected by SEPTA transit lines —
each connection is a 1-seat ride between actual SEPTA stops.
There are many editions of Ticket to Ride for different locations. They share route-building rules, with each adding a feature or two to keep things fresh. Our version adds sites of interest you can visit around the city, and a bonus for traveling on all five transit modes.
If you'd like to play, you're welcome to print the board, read the rules and give it a go. We hope you enjoy it!
