A circle mixer built for newcomer success, and good for introducing the swing.
After dancers form a circle I teach the buzz-step swing, including 4-5 rounds of trying it with the next person around the ring. Then we walk the figures.
Newcomers tend to stay oriented because facing your partner sets up the direction of progression, and because you start and end the swing in the same spot.
