A happy dance with an easy diagonal twist and a satisfying progression.

To teach the A2 “pass through to a wave”, make sure to first alert the ladies they will join left hands. Then all pass through across and join right (with neighbor you swung) to make the wave. Now all allemande right halfway, and take one more step so diagonal gents can join left in a diagonal wave.

In B1 as the diagonal gents allemande left, ladies should stand their ground rather than stepping to meet partners. That helps the set stay aligned, as couples are directly across from each other after the swing.
